Good communication is a key element of business today. You need to engage well with your colleagues, team, customers and stakeholders to get your message across – whether proposals, plans, budgets, recovery actions, self defence or purely dissemination of information. If you communicate well then you are able to influence people effectively, motivate them towards their goals and inspire the confidence that you can achieve them.

During this session, you will learn techniques for overcoming nerves, planning and constructing effectives speeches and presentations, and making maximum positive impact. This will include what is appropriate in different situations including how to handle impromptu communications. There will be an opportunity to practice these skills and ask questions about communication problems you may have experienced in the past.

We look at

* Before: How to Plan, Prepare and Practice.
* During: Use of Vocal Variety, Body Language and Props.
* After: How to Review, Reflect and Revise.

Format of the workshop is very interactive, with a combination of short ‘info briefs’, followed by audience participation.

There will also be an opportunity to make a short presentation during the workshop, which will be evaluated. (This can also be filmed and put on DVD later).
