The Jane Austen Society is made up of 12 associations based around the country. The Midlands branch of the Jane Austen Society meet about 3-4 times a year, witha tour every other year.

We are a genteel group of ladies and gentlemen who enjoy all aspects of Jane's

,book's together with associated historical buildings, historical background and anything loosely connected with her life and times. In the past we have performed dramatised (and undramatised) readings, organised and attended dinners - often in National Trust houses with some connection to Jane, listened to talks on a wide variety of subjects, met and talked with some of Jane's living decendants and generally shared our interests and knowledge of Jane Austen's novels, life and times.

Each year, we produce a log of transactions, with papers etc.
