Stories
- Toby was so shy when he first came to live with us, he spent the whole
of the first two weeks under the spare bed. Which meant I spent most
of those weeks lying on the floor talking to him and feeding him titbits.
He's much less shy now, but still hides if we have strangers in the
house.
He used
to spend hours curled up in a terracotta pot, which we've just removed
as he has developed Arthritis, although it isn't clear whether there's
a connection. He'll have to settle for the back of my car - his second
choice.
He is extremely
playful and loves to play with his football (pinpong) or a feather -
which he'll chase madly up and down stairs for hours. Or at least until
we get tired of wafting it up and down for him to play with. He much
prefers to play with a person or at a pinch, another cat. He hides behind
furntiture and jumps out on Bertie. he used to do it to us as well,
but he's stopped now.
He's a
keen hunter although his choice of prey is quite wide and sometimes
quite bizzare. He will hunt and bring for inspection mice and birds,
but also twigs, leaves, flowers and the occasional branch. I don't know
why.
