Stories - When I first met Bertie, he picked me up! He took one look and settled himself in the hood of my jacket. Although I said I didn't want a black & white cat, he's been with us ever since. It took him less than a month to figure out how to unlock the 3 cat flaps to go out. This included turning a dial and lifting a latch cover. We now baracade them to prevent him going out at night. Worse, he taught our other cat how to do it as well. If he does get out, he has been know to 'seranade' under our bedroom window for an hour plus. He has a very loud voice.

He is very determined once he's made up his mind to do something, be it to sit on a particular cushion or to play. None of us have succeeded for very long in opposing his will. He can be pushy, stroppy and as cute as a button if it serves to get his way.

Bertie loves to curl up on your shoulder. Although he doesn't need support as he's worked out how to stay there by positioning himself scarf fashion, he does like to remind you of his presence by caressing your back with fully unsheathed claws. Only if you ignore him of course. When I'm working from home he will curl up on the back of my chair with his chest and front legs draped over my right shoulder. It's hard to work like that, but harder still to shift him.
